Belotero® Lips Shape with Lidocaine is a specialised dermal filler intended for lip enhancement. It utilises non-organic hyaluronic acid and is formulated with the patented CPM (Cohesive Polydensified Matrix) technology, which produces a smooth, homogeneous, and flexible gel for natural-looking corrections. Its formulation is designed with both practitioners and patients in mind. The dermal filler comes with lidocaine for additional comfort during the procedure and boasts excellent molding capabilities, making it easy to work with.
The filler’s sodium hyaluronate mesh structure enhances tissue hydration, restores water balance in the dermis, and stimulates neocollagenesis. This results in smoother lip contours, a more attractive shape, reduced wrinkles around the mouth, and effective reduction of initial wrinkle formations.
Belotero® Lips Shape Lidocaine is primarily used to sculpt and volumise the lips. But it also addresses:
Merz Pharma, a leading name in both therapeutic and aesthetic fields in Europe and North America, is the manufacturer of this product.
This Belotero® formulation is composed of non-animal hyaluronic acid and lidocaine hydrochloride. The hyaluronic acid, which is a key ingredient, is designed to enhance volume and shape with its smooth, cohesive gel. The lidocaine hydrochloride is included to provide local anesthesia, making the treatment more comfortable. The product is presented in a 0.6 ml pre-filled syringe, and the injection is typically performed using a fine injector tip for precision and minimal discomfort.
Belotero® Lips Shade with Lidocaine must be stored in a cool environment, at temperatures up to 25°C/77°F, and away from heat exposure. Freezing is prohibited.
This Belotero® variant is designed for deep dermal and mucosal lip injections by trained professionals familiar with the injection site to reduce complications. For optimal enhancements, use submucosal or subcutaneous techniques.
Inject slowly and with minimal pressure using techniques like linear threading or fanning. The amount of product depends on the area being treated. To minimise the risk of intravascular injection, aspirate before injecting, use smaller volumes, treat one side at a time, and apply techniques to avoid major arteries. Blunt cannulas may help but don’t fully eliminate risks.
Use sterile conditions and thoroughly disinfect the treatment area. Follow assembly instructions to prevent issues with the needle and syringe. If either are blocked, stop and replace it. Use the provided 27G½” gauge injector tip to avoid excessive force.
Inject the correct amount of gel for the area and desired outcome. Gently massage the area after injection. Assess the patient for pain relief needs before starting the process.
After the completion, patients should be advised to follow certain aftercare, to ensure the best possible results and reduce side effects. This includes refraining from applying makeup or skin care products for at least 12 hours. It’s also important to avoid saunas, Turkish baths, and prolonged exposure to the sun, UV rays, extreme temperatures, and strenuous physical activity for 2 weeks. Additionally, patients should not put pressure on or handle the treated area. To minimise bruising, alcohol should be avoided for 24 hours before and after the procedure, as it can cause blood vessels to dilate.
Results typically last between 6 to 12 months, depending on individual factors such as lifestyle and adherence to aftercare instructions.
Lip augmentation and correction with this Belotero® product is a safe and comfortable session. After the procedure, the patient may observe local skin irritation reactions such as:
These symptoms typically subside within a few days, however, if symptoms persist, the client should contact their healthcare provider promptly for further evaluation.
Belotero® Lips Shape with Lidocaine is contraindicated for:
The patient should undergo a personal consultation with the doctor before the procedure to find out whether injections with dermal fillers are totally safe and will not have an unexpected influence on the health of the patient.
