The effects of intralipotherapy are fully visible after 4 to 5 weeks and last between 2 and 4 years if patients maintain a healthy lifestyle and diet.
The recommended number of injections usually varies from 2 to 5, depending on the treated area. However, there are some indications for example procedures performed on hips which require approximately 8 injections. Each procedure should be performed in 4 to 6 week intervals.
For optimal results, Aqualyx can be used together with an external ultrasound device. The preparation enhances its action, helping fat cells to dissipate.

Aqualyx side effects
Patients may experience swelling, redness and tenderness after the injection. Bruising and moderate pain after the injection can also occur, however, the procedure itself is often described as painless. The mentioned inconvenience should disappear within one week after the procedure. It is recommended to apply arnica cream and hot compress for the aftercare.
Contraindications for Aqualyx treatment
Procedures with Aqualyx® should not be performed if any the following occurs:
- allergy or hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients
- autoimmune disease
- inflammation of the treated area
- infection of the treated area
Aqualyx should not be used as a slimming treatment.
